143 Merrion Road is a distinctive residential development in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. The completed scheme provides 63 apartments and penthouses, including one, two and three-bedroom homes, with many offering views towards Dublin Bay.
Designed by Urban Agency, the building features a striking combination of brick façades, varying roof levels and a distinctive pitched Kalzip aluminium roof. The unusual roof design gives the development a strong architectural identity and required careful planning during construction.
Laois Scaffolding Hire Ltd. provided specialist scaffolding and access solutions throughout the development.
A key element of LSH’s involvement was the design and installation of a complex beamwork scaffold over the feature roof. The bespoke system used angled bridging beams and suspended tube-and-fitting scaffold elements, allowing safe access for the installation of the Kalzip roof while working around its unusual geometry.
LSH also provided façade scaffolding to support brickwork, glazing and external finishing works. The project required close coordination between the LSH management and design teams, Lioncor and other specialist contractors to safely accommodate the building’s complex roof and façade design.
